Episode 98: Unearthing Civics Connections Outside the History Classroom
History is often taught in the classroom, but perhaps the real history is outside for students to learn and put into action. Paul LaRue, a retired history teacher, currently serves on Ohio's State Board of Education and is dedicated to helping students make those critical connections with history and civics out in the field. He provides some fascinating insight and experiences from his teaching career and offers ways for young people to get involved in the discovery of history and civics. On this year's Independence Day, he fittingly shares some other interesting history and civic initiatives that honor those who have fought for the unity and independence of our nation.
